Acupuncture

Acupuncture originates from the Eastern Medical System. It is a holistic form of treatment that treats a variety of conditions. Registered Acupuncturists are trained to identify the pattern of imbalance that is causing disease or pathologies and select appropriate points on the body to treat those conditions. The points are stimulated using extremely thin single-use sterile needles.

Chiropractic

Fascial Stretch Therapy

Ever try and twist your body into a position to try and get a good stretch? Love the way your body feels after a relaxing deep yoga class? Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is all of that in a practitioner assisted session. Similar to Thai massage, a Fascial Stretch Therapist holds and manipulates the client’s body into dynamic and passive stretches that cannot be achieved on their own. FST specifically targets and unwinds the different fascial nets that run through the body.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use, many chronic pain conditions as well as sports related injuries.

Functional Range Conditioning (FRC)

Axis Healthcare is one of few clinics in the GTA offering Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialists. Functional Range Conditioning, or FRC, is defined as a system of training which applies scientific methods to the acquisition and maintenance of functional mobility, increased load bearing capacity and articular health and longevity. FRC utilizes the latest advancements in scientific knowledge, combined with tried and tested training methods to increase ones active, useable ranges of motion by simultaneously improving articular mobility, strength/resilience, and neurological control.

Personal Training

Personal trainers are part-coach, part-mentor, part-friend and even part-drill instructor at times. What remains constant is their goal, which is to oversee an individual’s fitness program in a fitness facility or private setting. Personal training is one-on-one instructions that incorporates exercise screening, goal-setting and health education. Following a fitness consultation, the trainer will design a challenging workout routine specifically designed for each individual’s needs. Your personal trainer is there to instruct you on proper lifting techniques, introduce you to exercises that target your specific goals and motivate you towards your full potential.

Cupping Therapy

A lot of the media buzz around cupping has toned down since 2016. Cupping is often used to treat the musculoskeletal system. However, did you know cupping can be an effective treatment for much much more? A properly trained Cupping Therapist can help improve digestion, immunity, and even give your face a pick-me-up!

Custom Orthotics and Orthopedic Braces

Custom-made orthotics that correct an abnormal or irregular, walking pattern. Sometimes called arch supports, orthotics allow people to stand, walk, and run more efficiently and comfortably. Over-the-counter orthotics although easily accessible cannot correct the wide range of symptoms that prescription foot orthoses can since they are not custom made to fit an individual’s unique foot structure. A properly fitted orthotic will control the amount of pressure and stress that your foot goes through.

Naturopathic Medicine

Many factors play into the development and persistence of chronic disease (high blood pressure, diabetes, heartburn, etc). The general public knows these things are bad but may not fully understand how or why. Naturopathic medicine is for those dissatisfied with the bite sized appointments with their general practitioner, hungry for a thorough explanation of their state of health and who desire options for treatment. Together we can establish and work towards realistic and manageable goals for your health.
